This campground is located on the beautiful and clear Lake Georgetown, and is a great place to get away from the noise and hustle of the city. It is a great spot for recreational activities, with a boat launch and hiking trails. The sites are large and attractive, with 50amp power pedestals, water hookups, covered picnic tables, fire pits, grills, and even a large wooden canopy over the picnic table. The park is closing August 1st 2020 for a complete makeover, and the roads are paved and easy to access. The park staff are friendly and helpful, and the gate is locked at 10 pm. The only downside is that the bathrooms are dated and have a smell, and the sites are short, in poor repair, or unlevel. The park is also a bit pricey at $26/night, but it is a great spot for families, runners, dog walkers, and anyone who wants to enjoy the lake and the forest views.
