Danas Peak Campground is a great place to stay for a camping trip. Located in a rural area with beautiful scenery, the campground is open from March 2nd to September 30th for the year of 2022. The access roads are paved and smooth, and the sites are back-in and fairly level. Each site has a covered picnic table and a grill, and most of them have water access and a good view. The campground is not big rig friendly, and there are wooden posts set into the ground every couple of feet across the road from sites 8-20 to keep people from driving through the field. There is no sewer connection or trees, and the showers are kind of far away. The campground is close to Fort Hood and their museums, and the nightly rate is half with a Golden Access card. Unfortunately, not even day use is allowed.
