Fig Tree Campground is a 55+ community located in Harlingen, Texas, conveniently located between larger population sources of McAllen to the west on US 83 and Brownsville or South Padre Island to the east. The campground boasts clean, paved roads and spacious, well-maintained sites with full hook-ups. Restrooms and showers are currently under construction, but management is working hard to ensure they are ready by the end of the day. There are a variety of activities and events taking place weekly, such as discounted seats for the RGV Killer Bees, senior discounts at the local multiplex, trips to South Padre Island, card games, free doughnuts and coffee, and pool exercise. The campground is clean and actively working on improvements, but could use some upgrades/fixing up. They do not allow families with children, but do allow a small portion of spots to be booked by younger singles or couples.
