This campground is a great destination for birders and snowbirds alike. The staff is accommodating and friendly, and the amenities are plentiful. The campground is close to many attractions, including Estero Llano, South Padre Island, Santa Ana, Hugh Ramsey Park, and Laguna Atascosa NWR, all within an hour drive. The campground is quiet, though there may be a train that passes in the early morning. The sites are pull-thru, with 30a & 50a pedestals, water & sewer connections, and plenty of quality amenities. The roads are in need of repair, but the campground is well managed and only 5-6 miles to downtown. The pool is a good size and there is a long list of activities in the winter months. Beware, the gate is locked on weekends and no one will answer the phone to let you in.

Sunshine RV Resort is an age-qualified campground that requires a minimum check-in age of 55 years. The campground offers RV campsites and rental accommodations. Mandatory two-night reservations are required for weekends and three nights for holidays. The campground allows pets. Electricity is additional, and utility fees will be assessed in accordance with current metering and fee collection standards. The rates displayed do not include any applicable service fees or charges for optional incidentals. The campground offers full refunds for cancellations up to two days prior to your arrival date for daily and weekly reservations. For long-term reservations (28 days or longer), the campground allows full refunds for cancellations up to 60 days prior to your arrival date. The campground offers amenities such as nearby RV resorts, and activities such as none specified. Discounts are available for Thousand Trails Camping Pass holders and for reservations with a minimum length of stay of one night and a maximum length of stay of six nights.
