This campground is not for the faint of heart. It is mostly full-timers living in all kinds of trailers, including one with a living quarters. The sites are narrow and have concrete pads, but they are cracked and there is a lot of standing water and mud behind the sites. The water pressure and power are good, but the site is not level. It is packed with trailers, so apparently other people don’t care, and there is more junk piled around than you would expect. The staff and other campers are friendly, but the restrooms are in very bad condition. There is a lot of traffic in and out all night and early morning, and you can hear the children next to you running through their trailer most of the night. The owner is not willing to give refunds and will not give out his number. It may have been a decent place at one time, but it is a dump now. If you can’t find anywhere else, a one night stay would be OK, but you should be looking for a better RV park.

Lazy D RV Park is a family-friendly RV park located in Hitchcock, Texas. It boasts 70 full hook-up sites (both 30 & 50 amp), concrete drives and pads, club house, full 24-hour laundry, super-clean and air-conditioned restrooms and showers, a sparkling swimming pool and playground, as well as regular activities for all ages! The park is just minutes from Galveston Island and is also one of the closest RV parks to the Texas City refineries, making it a quiet, comfortable home for refinery and plant workers.
