The Lone Star Corral is an SKP Escapee membership park located 6 miles west of Hondo on the south side of Hwy 90. Despite the damage caused by a tornado in April 2021, the Escapee Staff and leaseholders remain friendly, upbeat, helpful, and offer great Texas hospitality. The RV Park has a long way to go to returning to its premium quality condition, but the spacious, attractive sites have a wide concrete parking pad to support an RV during wet weather. The park is surrounded by farmland, livestock, and aged residential homes, and passing freight trains can be heard. The library looks destroyed and the bath room (mens) and shower are showing their age. The people at this park are wonderful and go out of their way to make you feel a part of their family. They had a wonderful Veterans Day ceremony and collected donations from folks for the DHanis high school band. They also invited guests to try the local steakhouse and saloon in DHaanis. Mobile RV tech is located in the park if you need service on your rig.

Alamo Area SKP Co-Op/Retreat of Texas, Inc. Lone Star Corral is a 55+ cooperative RV community in rural Texas west of San Antonio, affiliated with the Escapees RV Club. The campground offers WiFi and propane (LPG) services. The local area provides opportunities for activities such as bluebonnet viewing. The campground hosts events such as breakfasts, hamburger cookouts, and ladies lunch bunches. The amenities include a clubhouse and utilities. The campground does not offer any discounts.
