What others are saying about this campground
Lake Brownwood State Park is a beautiful campground located in the center of Texas. It is friendly, clean, and well kept with public facilities such as restrooms, showers, and picnic areas. The RV sites are not very private, but they are spacious and come with a fire ring and picnic table. The lake offers plenty of opportunities for fishing, and there are also many hiking and biking trails, including the Nopales Ridge Trail. The park also has CCC built cabins and lodges for those who dont camp, as well as a dance hall, steps, and other artifacts. The campground is great for big rigs, and the sites have electric, water, and sewer hookups. There is also a dump station, although it can be difficult to get your tanks completely empty. The park is great for families, with plenty of open space and grass, and lots of wildlife to see. The campground is fairly dark at night, but the nearby town of Brownwood has all the amenities you could need. The campground is open year-round, but it is best to visit in the off-season to avoid the crowds.
