Boones Campground is a convenient and clean park located on the edge of town, just off State Highway 281. The campground is about to expand by at least two acres and offers pull-through sites, picnic tables, some shade, and a clean bath house and laundry. The park is a great spot for a short stay, with a view of horses in the pasture behind the park, and even the occasional deer. The owners and staff make visitors feel like part of the family, and the surrounding town and area are full of quaint attractions. Unfortunately, the park is quite close together and the pecan trees produce a sticky mist that can get all over campers and trucks. The park is also located right on the highway, which can be quite loud at times. Additionally, the new company providing WiFi is difficult to contact and is an extra cost. Despite these issues, Boones Campground is a great spot for an overnight stay or as a base for exploring the area.
