From The Campground
Fort Boggy State Park is a tranquil patchwork of woods, fields, and water located halfway between Houston and Dallas along I-45. The park offers 1,800 acres of land to explore, with 3.5 miles of hiking and biking trails, a 15-acre lake for swimming, fishing, and boating, primitive hike-in campsites, and cabins in the woods. The park also has a 50-person pavilion for group gatherings and offers ranger programs on the nature and history of the area. Nearby attractions include the Texas State Railroad, Confederate Reunion Grounds State Historic Site, and the cities of Rusk, Palestine, and Fairfield.
