Lockhart State Park is a beautiful campground located in Lockhart, Texas. It offers a 50 amp loop where sites are mostly flat and paved with asphalt. Although the spacing between sites is decent, it is not great. However, we were able to park our 45-foot 5th wheel without issues, and we had a view of the golf course from our site. The park also has a playground, a picnic area, basketball courts, and an in-season pool, among other amenities. Additionally, it has many nature trails where hiking is possible, and fishing is available in a small creek. Unfortunately, the internet service is extremely challenging, even for streaming videos. Cellular service is sparse. AT&T had 2.28 Mbps download speed and 0.14 Mbps upload speed. Verizons download speed was between 0.25 and 0. 58 Mbps (580 Kbs) and upload speed was 4.00 Mbps. It was also hard to connect to Internet from the 50-amp loop. Tmobile had the best download speed of 3.24 Mbps and an upload speed of 0.02 Mbps. However, it is not very reliable in the park. It is an excellent park to visit, but it is worth considering the internet issues you might encounter.

Lockhart State Park is a quiet getaway located within easy driving distance of both Austin and San Antonio. Visitors can enjoy camping, golfing, hiking, biking, fishing, swimming, and exploring the park's trails. The park also features a historic group recreation hall that can be reserved for meetings or reunions. The park was built over 80 years ago by the Civilian Conservation Corps and the Works Progress Administration, and visitors can learn more about their work on the park's History page. Lockhart State Park is also a Texas Aquatic Science Certified Field Site.
