Marathon Motel & RV Park in Marathon, TX is a clean and well-maintained campground that makes you feel at home. The staff is very courteous and helpful. Although some sections of the RV park are challenging to access, it is generally quiet, and we would stay here again. Great location for visiting Big Bend and experiencing the fabulous Dark Skies of Texas. The nightly star gazing is a must-see. The facilities are clean, and there is a beautiful green area with real grass. The showers are clean, and the campground has reasonable T-Mobile coverage. It is advisable to book early, especially if you require a site with sewer hookup. Overall, a great place to stay.

Established in 1940 and recently renovated, the Marathon Motel sits on 10 acres with 10 newly decorated rooms divided among four duplex cabins. Here, guests can relax in the new adobe-walled courtyard with flowering native plants, fireplace, fountain, and spectacular views of the mountains and starry skies. The easy-to-navigate RV Park has 29 full hookups with an array of services. Camping is available in the rear of the property that provides seclusion, privacy, and a beautiful view of the mountains. Whether you're a traveler, observer, serious astrophotographer, or someone who just appreciates spectacular sunsets and starry skies, the Marathon Motel has the right sky for you!
