GenieSummary

The sites are level, with a little high TX grass, but its ok. There is a common area with a wood burning stove, a refrigerator, BBQ grill, picnic table, sink, washer/dryer, CDs and player,as well as a covered outside shelter that has a campfire ring. The owners clearly are attempting to catch a nostalgia vibe with the design of the park and to my mind they nailed it. Entrance into the park was at a fairly steep angle and we scraped our front bumper even at a very slow speed. The backin sites are short and there is no room to park your tow vehicle, the pull throughs are long but closely spaced. The grassy areas are full of goat head stickers, making walking with sandals on or with a pet uncomfortable and possibly dangerous. The park is kind of cute and quirky with a neon sign and buildings geared toward the Marfa minimalist ambiance. The concrete floor in the womens bathroom wasnt swept while we were there, and looked like it had been a long time since the sink and toilet bowls were cleaned. This campground is a great place for travelers to stay while exploring the Big Bend region. It is conveniently located near Marfa, Alpine, and Big Bend National Park, and is walking distance from town. The owners have created a kitschy, nostalgic atmosphere with a neon sign and buildings geared toward the Marfa minimalist ambiance. The sites are level, with a little high TX grass, but its ok. There is a common area with a wood burning stove, a refrigerator, BBQ grill, picnic table, sink, washer/dryer, CDs and player,as well as a covered outside shelter that has a campfire ring. Check-in is done by the honor system or reservations can be made online if you’re paying by credit card. The grassy areas are full of goat head stickers, making walking with sandals on or with a pet uncomfortable and possibly dangerous. There is a washer and dryer, but you pay with a cash envelope, so its nice not to have to keep track of quarters. The night skies are very dark and beautiful, and it was great being so close to Marfa.
