GenieSummary

What others are saying about this campground
This campground is a great destination for families on a longer RV road trip. Located near the Leon River, the park has been destroyed multiple times from flooding and is still in the process of being cleaned up. The campground offers 20 full-hookup sites with level concrete pads and spacious, crushed granite patios. Each site has a picnic table, fire pit, lantern pole with two hooks and a metal campfire ring. The park also has short and easy tree-lined hiking trails with interesting destinations, such as a cave/overhang once used by Tonkawa natives and remnants of the old CCC camp. The park is close to attractions such as Mammoth National Monument, Magnolia Market, Branch Davidian site, Space X, The Kissing Tree Vineyard, and Eagles Landing restaurant. The staff is welcoming and friendly, and the facilities are relatively new and well-maintained. Visitors should be aware of the occasional artillery fire from Fort Hood and rocket engine testing from nearby Space X.
