Als Campground is a hidden gem located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. It is close to Boerne, Helotes, and Bandera, and not far from San Antonio. The staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly, and the park is on a huge piece of land. It has a great pool/deck/grill/outdoor kitchen, and there are cabins and tepees for rent. The RV slots are narrow, but the electricity is stable and the wifi is excellent. The main issue is the sand bur infestation, which makes it impossible to go outside without being covered in sand burs. The staff has put 6 of topsoil down and planted grass, but it doesnt seem to be helping. The park could be a gem if they take care of the sand bur issue.

From The Campground

Al's Hideaway Cabin and RV Rentals is a family-built, owned, and operated campground located on 20 acres in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. The campground offers 12 cabins, 10 RV spots with full hook-ups, 2 Tipi's, and 10 primitive campsites. On-site activities include swimming, hiking, horse shoe pit, corn-hole, and star-gazing. Off-site activities include horseback riding, concerts, wineries, breweries, shopping, theme parks, museums, zoos, cave tours, hunting, and golfing. The campground also has a large 60 X 40 pavilion with an outdoor kitchen and pool available for all guests to use. Free WIFI is available throughout the park, and there is a TV in all cabins and the pavilion. The Country Store offers gifts, drinks, food, and ice, along with camping and RV supplies you may have forgotten. Al's Hideaway is also available for weddings and group reservations.
