Magee Beach Park in Port Aransas, Texas is a newly renovated campground with full service, concrete pads, and lots of space between sites. Located between a ship channel jetty and pier, the beach is only a two minute walk away. All sites have a large front yard, and are flat and level. The campground has been rebuilt since Hurricane Harvey in 2017, and the office, showers, and laundry room are still under construction. The rates are still reduced due to the renovations. The campground is surrounded by dunes and the only sound is the roar of the Gulf. There is a pack of coyotes that sneak around after dark, so its important to not leave pets unattended outside. There are lots of good restaurants and bars nearby, and a free trolley to the pier. The sites have electric and sewer hookups, and the power is towards the front of the site. There is no Wi-Fi, but AT&T air cards work just fine. There are no amenities, but the staff is very helpful. There is a discount for paying for 7 nights at a time, and the cost for water fills and dumps is $8. The only downside is the lack of shade and the issues with red tide.

From The Campground

I.B. Magee Beach Park is a new campground in Nueces County, TX. The campground offers 20/30/50 AMP Premium Campsites with on-site sewer, water, and WIFI. The sites are limited to 8 people and 3 vehicles per site, and campers must have their own facilities. Rental trailer drop-offs are not allowed, and tent, restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities are currently unavailable. Dump and water fill services are available for non-registered campers for $10. The campground is located near Padre Balli Park, Packery Channel Park, and Bob Hall Pier.
