Sanders Cove in Powderly, Texas is a peaceful campground with plenty of mature trees providing shade to the campsites. There are 16 well-spaced campsites situated right on the water. The roads are paved, and the sites are on concrete pads, making it easy to park. Several sites have scenic views of the lake, offering picturesque sunsets. The campground was clean, and the check-in staff was friendly and helpful. The hosts were also fantastic and made newcomers to camping feel right at home. Nearby hiking trails start right from the campground, and the pretty lake is excellent for boating. However, the toilet pits and bathhouse need some TLC, and the shorelines around the lake need cleaning up. The park does not receive much state funding, so the campers are encouraged to donate. Phone connectivity can be spotty, but T-Mobile reception is good, and some local TV stations can be picked up with an antenna. There are plenty of mature trees providing shade throughout the campground, but some sites can feel a bit small. Also, there is no dog run, but there is ample space for walking dogs around the campground. The dump station is 1/2 mile away from the campground, and there is no sewer hookup. Overall, Sanders Cove is a great place to enjoy nature, relax, and have fun camping.
