Here is a revised description of Union Grove in Salado, TX based on the reviews: Union Grove in Salado is a scenic and peaceful campground located near a lake. The camp site is clean and offers picnic tables, fire rings, and grills, along with spacious and fresh restrooms complete with flush toilets and showers. While the lakes water level is low, there is a 4 lane boat dock for launching watercraft. The campground has over 2 miles of paved roads for walking or cycling. The sites are asphalt with grass surrounding them and are sloped due to the terrain, but leveling was not an issue. The area is quiet, even during peak season, however, there are noises from Ft. Hood artillery in the evenings. The shelters are great and the views are excellent, but there could be more trees. The dump station is located at the exit of the campground. It is best to book reservations on Recreation.gov, where there are good pictures of each site.

Stillhouse Hollow Lake is a Corps of Engineers managed lake located in Belton, TX. The lake offers a variety of recreational activities including camping, boating, fishing, hiking, and hunting. The lake is also home to the Chalk Ridge Falls Environmental Learning Center, which includes a hiking trail along the Lampasas River, a spring-fed creek with a waterfall, and several wildlife viewing points. There are 9 recreation areas at Stillhouse Hollow Lake, including Cedar Gap Park, Chalk Ridge Falls Nature Area, Dana Peak Park, Model Airplane Field, Overlook Park, Rivers Bend Park, Stillhouse Hollow Marina, Stillhouse Park, and Union Grove Park. The lake offers both electric and non-electric campsites, as well as primitive and group camping options. Fishing is a popular activity at the lake, with fish cleaning stations and fishing docks available. There are also picnic areas, swimming beaches, and hiking trails. The lake is open year-round and offers age and disability discount passes.
