Blazing Star RV Park is a beautiful, well-maintained campground located near San Antonio, Texas. The park features a large enclosed dog park, small playground, pool, fitness center, laundry & bath house, and paved roads throughout. It has lush trees and grass everywhere, and large concrete pads with plenty of length and a level experience. The pads have additional concrete approach & departure features to make entering & exiting your site easier with a large rig. The park entrance off the northbound Loop 1604 frontage road is easy to miss on your first visit. Management sponsors frequent events like pot lucks, exercise classes, low cost breakfasts and dinners, etc. Standard and premium sites are offered, but there seems not much difference as the spaces are fairly tight and roads are single lane. Trees are nice for shade, but messy in winter and may cause allergy problems for live oak. Some sites are fully occupied with yard furniture, fencing, lighting and storage by full timers. The rock lined roads and the angle of the sites make maneuvering and set-up a bit difficult. WiFi is available for an additional fee, but is weak and may not work on laptops or TVs. The bath houses could use updates, but are clean and air conditioned. The park is close to restaurants, shopping, and tourist sites in San Antonio, and is a safe environment with friendly folks. However, there is a great deal of traffic noise from highway 1604, and the park has unwritten/unspoken favoritism towards winter Texans, short-term vacationers & long-term folks who have earned their right to tattle.
