This campground is the perfect spot for those looking to explore San Antonio and the surrounding area. It is located in a quiet area on the south side of San Antonio, and is conveniently located near the Missions and not far from downtown. The campground is small, with only 5 sites, and is situated on the same property as the hosts residence. All the sites are back-in and have full hookups, and the electric, water and sewer are in good repair and professionally done. The hosts are very kind and accommodating, and greeted us with brochures of the local attractions, maps to the Missions, and great restaurant suggestions. We were also lucky enough to visit the Tipi erected on the property, and enjoy a campfire with the other guests. The gate is locked at night, but guests are given a key to enter and exit after hours. There are no central amenities such as bathrooms, showers, or laundry, but there is plenty of room for walking dogs and the campground is far enough away from the highway that noise is not an issue. There is no wifi but cell service is good and the T-Mobile hot spot worked well. This is a great spot to use as a base to explore San Antonio and its attractions.
