This campground is a peaceful and picturesque retreat situated in a grove of large, mature pecan trees and alongside the San Saba River. There are about a dozen long-term guests with the usual array of junk spread around their site. The sites are level and almost all have good shade cover with plenty of space - not at all crowded. The campground offers concrete pads with full hook-ups, no cable TV, but you will want your own satellite receiver, showers and restrooms are functional. There is a small green sign pointing to the golf course here, but the road goes over a very rough and steep railroad crossing. The City plans to improve the park to include providing better access to the river for fishing. The campground is lightly populated during the winter months and is very quiet at night. It is a great place to enjoy the scenery and proximity to the San Saba River and the adjacent golf course.
