What others are saying about this campground
Mackenzie Lake Recreation Area is a great place for a peaceful getaway. The campground offers a variety of amenities, including full-hook ups, picnic tables, grills, sun shades, fire rings, and a loaner dog bone for the night. The campground is clean, quiet, and offers beautiful scenery and spectacular sunrises. The lake is currently low, so water sports are not allowed, but there is a beach area where visitors can cool off in the summer heat. There are also miles of trails for dirt bikes, quads, and UTVs, and a variety of recreational activities, including a golf course, baseball and softball fields, and a prairie dog town. The park also hosts tournaments and a 4th of July fishing derby. There is a general store for last minute items and live bait, as well as outdoor bathrooms. The closest town for groceries and supplies is Plainview, about 45 miles away. Prices for camping and OHV trail access are very inexpensive.

From The Campground
Lake Mackenzie is a recreational lake located in Briscoe County, Texas. It was created to furnish water to member cities of Floydada, Lockney, Silverton, and Tulia. The lake offers fishing, ATV trails, and camping facilities. Due to the decrease in water level, skiing, jet skis, speed boats and jet boats are not permitted. The campground is operated by Mackenzie Municipal Water Authority and has a dedicated staff that hopes you share in our sentiment that 'Life just seems better at the lake!'
