This rustically beautiful campground is located on a quiet working ranch with free roaming peacocks and guinea fowl. It offers 48 RV sites with full hookups, including water and electric, with a maximum length of 40 feet. There are also bathrooms with showers, a great gift shop offering homemade fudge, and a 2 hour cave tour with a knowledgeable guide. The campground is located about 16 miles from Sonora, and a trip to town to eat at Pit Stop BBQ is well worth the drive. Unfortunately, there is no sewer hookup or dump station due to the caverns, but there is a free dump station at a nearby rest stop. The sites are fairly cramped, with no picnic tables or other amenities, and there is no WiFi. The cost is $25/night for 50amp W/E. The staff is wacky but friendly, and cell reception is barely usable without a booster. There is a row of back-in sites for very short campers, but parking for the tow vehicle might be a problem. The caverns are the main attraction, and they are spectacular. There is also plenty of wildlife to observe, and the scenery is beautiful.
