What others are saying about this campground
This Hill Country campground is a great option for those looking to explore the outdoors. With its close proximity to Poodies and a nearby taco stand, it is a great spot for music lovers. The campground is nice, but can get crowded at times. Restrooms are basic and in need of a redo, but the park offers plenty of water and picnic areas. There are also great trails for walking and biking, as well as access to Lake Travis. The campground offers back-in concrete pads, but trees are not trimmed so it is important to be aware of this. There is an $8 entry fee plus a nightly fee to stay at the park, and the bathrooms and showers are clean. Campers can also enjoy a campfire, although the grills are in bad shape so it is recommended to bring your own. The park is also great for families, with plenty of activities for children such as rock scrabbling.

From The Campground

Pace Bend Park is located in far western Travis County in the Hill Country of central Texas. With more than nine miles of shoreline along scenic Lake Travis, Pace Bend is one of the most popular areas in the Highland Lakes region, offering visitors a wide range of recreational opportunities. The west side of the park features high, limestone cliffs and numerous rocky coves with some of the most impressive views available of Lake Travis, especially at sunset. Most of Pace Bend Park is easily accessible by vehicle from the six-mile, paved roadway that loops the park. However, the interior of the park is managed as a wildlife preserve and can be reached by foot, bicycle, or horseback only. Numerous trails lead into the hills and provide excellent views of the lake and the Hill Country. This area serves as home to a large number of whitetail deer, raccoon, fox, ringtail cat, and dozens of bird species.
