What others are saying about this campground

This campground is a great place for an overnight stop or a longer stay. It offers a laundry and shower facility, a propane station, and easy access off 287. The sites are gravel and have a slight slope, so you may need to use leveling blocks. The staff here is very welcoming and helpful, and they even went so far as to run up to the cafe and collect our dinners for us. The park is close to the LBJ Grasslands, which have hiking, fishing, and boating, and is only a short distance from the chain grocery store in Bowie or Alvord. Trains do run by the campground, so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. The price is for Passport America which is good for 2 nights but they may accept longer stays if you ask.
