This campground is located conveniently off of the highway and is a great location for visiting Big Bend National Park, just 3 miles from the west entrance. It offers full hook-up sites, a gas station, motel, cabins, and a game room with fast internet. The sites are close together, gravel pads which are somewhat level, and are mixed in with tent campers and cabin/motel rooms. The lighting is poor and there are no vending machines or bill changer so come prepared with laundry products and quarters. The campground is clean and the hookups work, and the location is perfect for exploring Big Bend state and national parks, Terlingua, and the surrounding areas. The workers are friendly and the park is well maintained, but the restrooms are beyond filthy and the pads are unlevel. When dry, the sites are nasty and rutted dirt topped with dust, which turns to mud when any water is added. It is also close to restaurants, a bank, and post office, and is walking distance to a couple of restaurants. There is a new small grocery store less than a mile form the park that has a great variety of food items.
