Lakefront Lodge is a campground located on a peninsula that sticks into Falcon Lake, offering many sites with nice views. The sites are large, level, and have full hookups, and there is a boat launch right in the park. Unfortunately, the park has been on a down-hill slide for the last 8 years, and has received only the maintenance necessary to keep the park open at a minimal level. The restrooms are in serious need of cleaning, the grass doesnt get cut during the summer, and the swimming pool was unusable and closed during our stay. The management has dropped the recreation director position and all activities are being continued by the current residence, and they could care less if there are activities or not. The town of Zapata is a poor, dirt filled place. We would not return here unless they come under new ownership or management and clean the place up.
