GenieSummary

This campground is a hidden gem in the West desert. It is a great place to camp if you are exploring the desert and want to experience a piece of history. It is located off of the Pony Express road, and was once a station on the Pony Express route, and then a large CCC project camp, complete with swimming pool. The campground is clean, with many of the sites having shade, and portable water available from May-Oct. The views are stunning, with wild horses and antelopes, and you can hear coyotes howl through the night. There are solid fire pits and picnic tables, and the upper loop sites are bigger and more spread out. There is a spring here, but it is mostly not available (its plumbed into taps now). The campground can be rough to get to, and the sites are uneven, so if you have an RV, you will need to use leveling blocks. There are also a lot of little side roads to camp on nearby if you dont want to be in a campground.
