Portal RV Resort is a great campground located in Moab, Utah. It offers a variety of amenities, including large concrete pads with plenty of space between sites, high-end power poles, good water pressure, a pergola with wind screens, propane fire pit, cast iron table and chairs, and lights. The resort also features a fully landscaped private concrete pull-through spot, as well as a Koi pond and walking paths. The WiFi is excellent and there are 68 cable channels, a third of which are high definition. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the access is easy for big rigs. The only downside is the long road to get to the Arches hikes, which can take over 30 minutes to climb the switchbacks in addition to waiting time at the ranger station. There is also a problem with mosquitoes, which seem to be drawn to the Kol Pond and the wetlands behind the property.
