Moon Lake, Utah in Ashley National Park is the perfect spot for a peaceful and comfortable camping experience. With plenty of wooded and isolated tent sites, you can enjoy the lush greenery of Utah while still being close to other state and national lands. The campground is clean and well-maintained, with amenities such as toilets, drinking water, fire pits, and a lodge with a store and ice cream bar. You can even rent a boat or hire horses to explore the area! Fishing is also a popular activity, and you can cook your catch over the campfire. There are also plenty of hiking trails and kayaking spots, and the lake is perfect for paddleboarding. Bring bug spray for the gnats, but otherwise you will have a great time!

From The Campground
Moon Lake Campground is located in the High Uintas Wilderness and offers excellent opportunities for hiking, equestrian trails, and backcountry fishing. The Fish Creek Trail begins at the Moon Lake Dam and ascends northeast up to Center Park, climbing from 8,200’ to 10,400’ over 5.6 miles. The campground is situated on the southern slope of the Uinta Mountains and offers scenic views of the two-mile-long Moon Lake. Visitors can enjoy motor boating, canoeing, and swimming in the lake. The campground has paved roads and most parking spurs are 16 x 65 feet. There are two flushable toilets available for use.
