From The Campground

Silver Lake State Park is a popular destination for family vacations in central Vermont. The park offers 39 tent/RV sites and 7 lean-to sites, two restrooms with running water and coin-operated hot showers, a sanitary station, and a large grassy area by the beach with a play area. Visitors can rent boats and canoes, and enjoy the sandy swimming area, picnic grounds, and nature programs. The park also has a picnic pavilion that can be rented for larger group gatherings. The lake supports excellent fishing of northern pike, perch, smallmouth bass and other warm-water species, and is popular for paddling and quieter recreation. During the winter months, the lake is a popular spot for ice skating and ice fishing. The park interpreter offers fun, hands-on activities, including night hikes, nature crafts and games, campfire programs and amphibian explorations. Nearby attractions include mountain biking at Killington bike park, Killington gondola rides, Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historic Park, Coolidge historic site, and Vermont Institute of Natural Science.
