What others are saying about this campground
Smugglers Notch State Park is a beautiful campground located in Stowe, Vermont. It features 20 tent sites and 14 lean-tos, as well as a few drive-in sites for those with disabilities. The campground is well maintained and the bathrooms are clean and modern. The park is close to Stowe Mountain Resort, Bingham Falls, and the Alchemist for a case of Heady Topper. There are plenty of hiking trails nearby, and the views of the surrounding area are spectacular. Wood is available for purchase from the rangers. During the ski season, the park is transformed into a large gravel parking lot, and during the summer, it is a great spot for dispersed camping. Leaf peepers will be in full force during the fall, and the park is a great spot to take in the views.

From The Campground

Smugglers' Notch State Park is a historic park in Vermont that was relocated in 2003. The new campground features sites that are further spread out, a new restroom facility that incorporates alternative energy and a location that gives easy access to Bingham Falls. The restrooms have flush toilets, hot and cold running water and coin-operated hot showers. Firewood and ice is available for sale. Most sites are walk-in and not accessible by vehicle. The park offers a scenic corridor full of adventure, including hiking trails, wetlands boardwalk, picnic area, and fireplaces built by the pioneering conservationists of the CCC. Activities in the notch include bouldering, ice climbing, cave exploring, and biking. The park has a park interpreter offering fun, hands-on activities. Interpreters are park staff solely dedicated to helping you learn more about the natural and cultural history of the park. Some popular activities include night hikes, nature crafts and games, campfire programs and amphibian explorations.
