What others are saying about this campground
There are plenty of trails to explore and the lake is great for swimming, kayaking, and paddle boating. The campground is great for families with kids, offering a small, sandy beach with a bath house and changing rooms nearby. There are also trails down to the lake from the campground, although none of the sites are waterfront. The campground is quite busy on summer weekends, but if you want solitude, there are plenty of trails to explore. The vista trail has an awesome view of the lake from across the road, and the meadow trail leads to an old cemetery. Flush toilets and showers are available, and you can rent kayaks and paddle boats for the day. Some spots are more private than others and some lean-tos have a view of the forest rather than the road. The campground is a perfect place to spend a weekend in the summer, or set as a base camp for exploring the Green Mountains.

From The Campground

Emerald Lake State Park is a heavily wooded ridge above Emerald Lake. The park has 66 campsites and 37 lean-tos. Flush toilets, coin-operated hot showers, and a dump station are provided. There is a small beach with a snack bar. A hillside picnic area, as well as lakeside picnic tables are available. Trails throughout the park and in the surrounding area provide great hiking opportunities. Swimming, fishing, and boating (no motors) are popular in the lake. The park also has a picnic pavilion that can be rented. The pavilion seats up to 100 people and has electricity, grills, picnic tables, and a pit toilet nearby. The park has a park interpreter offering fun, hands-on activities. Interpreters are park staff solely dedicated to helping you learn more about the natural and cultural history of the park.
