Lake Carmi State Park is a spacious and popular park with two loops that can accommodate campers and tents. They offer several leanto sites and a couple of cabins. The park is located close to the reviewers home and has become their go-to place for a quick camping fix. The lake has been revitalized by an aeration system which has brought back the use of the two beautiful beaches. One beach is more for day use, while the campers beach is located in loop B. The park has two boat launches which make for convenient access to the lake for varied recreation. Walleye fishing has always been good there, and the sunsets are beautiful. It has been known to get a little rowdy at times since it is a busy park, but now law enforcement patrols the park which has helped considerably.
