What others are saying about this campground
There are also a few trails to explore. Brighton State Park is a great campground for those looking for a peaceful and private camping experience. The campground features private campsites, running water, flushing toilets, and even a shower. The campsites are kept neat and tidy with raked sites and flat surfaces for tents. There is easy boat access from the tent flaps, and visitors can enjoy the loons calling in the evening. The Moose Observation Platform is a great spot to take in the scenery, and firewood and ice are available for sale onsite. Tenters and small campers will find plenty of room to enjoy the park. There is a day use area nearby with a beach, changing rooms, and restrooms. The lean-to shelters are a great way to stay dry in rainy weather, and the fishing is slow but still fun. The bathhouses are clean and offer 3 toilets per gender and 4 unisex quarter operated showers. The park manager is friendly and helpful, and the town of Island Pond is a great place to get groceries. Visitors should bring bug spray and be aware that some services are not available due to the pandemic. Brighton State Park is a beautiful and cozy park with plenty to do for the whole family.

From The Campground
Brighton State Park is located on the shores of Spectacle Pond in Vermont. The park offers 5 cabins, 54 tent/RV sites, and 23 lean-to's. All three restrooms have flush toilets, hot and cold running water, and coin-operated hot showers. The park has a campers' beach with boat rentals, a nature museum, an amphitheater, a garage theater, and a play area. The park offers nature programs, including night hikes, nature crafts and games, campfire programs, and amphibian explorations. The park also offers mountain biking opportunities at the nearby Kingdom Trails. Fishing is available at Spectacle Pond and Island Pond, where brown trout, pickerel, and large mouth bass can be found. Kayaks, canoes, row boats, and pedal boats are available to rent, as well as stand-up paddle boards. The park has two horseshoe pits. The outstanding attraction of this area is its remoteness: mountains with tree-covered slopes, fast running streams, and clear lakes. It is common to hear loons calling at night. Logging roads into the deeper reaches of this area offer adventurous side trips.
