Apple Island Resort in South Hero, Vermont is a beautiful campground with stunning views of Lake Champlain. The park has a nice general store that serves fresh made sandwiches including breakfast sandwiches. The people who work at the campground are very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is very quiet and relaxing, with no crazy music or parties. They have a nice little par 3 golf course right on the property. Though the sites themselves need some maintenance, they are generally roomy and grassy, and many have decent fire rings. Seasonal campers are mostly elderly residents, and are set apart from the non-seasonal sites. There are plenty of spots for in and out visitors. Although they have minimal activities, it is a great place to relax with nice playgrounds and fields that children would enjoy. Some guests have mentioned that the bath/shower rooms were cold, with screen doors that let in the cold temperatures. Despite this, the campground is well maintained and the surrounding area is breathtaking, making it a great place to visit.
