Lake Gaston Americamps is a campground with nice waterfront tent sites that offer a view of the lake. Bathrooms and showers are available, but not all tent sites have close access to them. However, there are porta potties near the tent sites for convenience. Children can play in the water and fish from the site. Trash is collected from the campsite, which is a plus. The campground is old and needs improvement, and most sites appear to be long term with canopies over trailers that may not be visually appealing. Short term sites are not level and can make it difficult to level trailers without leveling equipment. Despite this, there is a well-maintained swimming pool and nice bathrooms. Staff members are friendly and helpful in resolving issues quickly.
