Chesapeake Campground in Chesapeake, VA offers a clean and welcoming environment. The store offers great ice cream, and there are two well-maintained pools. The bathhouse near my site was clean and looked new. I did not use the Wi-Fi, but it was available for those who need it. However, some of the seasonal sites lacked standards with trash being left outside, and the smell of burning trash was noticeable in certain areas. Additionally, some campers appeared to be violating the rules of the park. Nevertheless, the staff was helpful and polite. Overall, it is a solid campground option in the Tidewater area.

Chesapeake Campground offers a wide variety of amenities including camping for tents, motorhomes and RVs as well as fun activities for the whole family including mini-golf, pony rides, swimming, tennis and basketball courts, a driving range for golfers and bike, canoe and John Boat rentals. They also have an exercise room and a chapel to help campers stay strong in both body and spirit. The camp store is open daily from 9am to 7pm and has groceries, ice, camping and RV supplies, games, book sharing and souvenirs. The Pavilion is available for outdoor barbeques, church gatherings, birthday parties or family reunions. The Plantation House facility rental is the perfect facility to host weddings, family reunions, corporate parties and more. Deep Creek Stables, a state of the art horse boarding and riding facility, is located right on the Chesapeake Campground property.
