Burke Lake Campground is a great spot for a quick weekend away or a night out camping. Located close to George Mason University, the park offers a beautiful lake with a 5-mile gravel walking/running/biking trail around the lakes perimeter and boat rentals. Campgrounds are located in the woods along the lake and have access to decent bathrooms. The primitive sites come with upgrades such as a communal bath house with water, restrooms and showers. There is also a camp store with the basics and friendly staff. The park also offers a lake for fishing and kayaking, disc golf, mini golf, carousel, and a cool little train. After all that you can hit up the ice cream parlor. Watch out for XC runners in the fall, as there is a course at the park that gets used for races on Saturdays.
