Gooney Creek Campground is a great place to camp, hike, fish, and practice your photographic skills. The campground features spacious sites with picnic tables and fire pits, a bathhouse with hot showers, a small camp store, and a creek running along the campsite. There is also a swingset and basketball hoop for the kids, and the campground is conveniently located near a river, lagoon, and waterfall. The only downside is the noise from the highway and the outhouses that could use some maintenance. However, the campground is a great option for a quick stop and the helpful Pam will make sure you have a spot with plenty of room to set up and park.

Gooney Creek Campground is a family-friendly campground located on the banks of Gooney Creek in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. The campground has been in operation since 1967 and offers tent camping sites with basic, water and electric, and full hook-up options. The campground is located just 5 miles south of Front Royal, 4 miles past the Skyline Drive entrance, and 3 miles past Skyline Caverns. Across the street from The Shenandoah River, the campground offers nearby rentals of canoes and tubes for guests to enjoy. Hiking, fishing, and swimming are also popular activities at the campground. The campground has hot showers, clean restrooms, and flush toilets. Pets are welcome as long as they are leashed and under sound control. Quiet time is from 11 pm to 8 am.
