This campground is the perfect spot for those looking to get away from it all and enjoy nature. With its own lake view and private sites, this campground offers a peaceful and serene atmosphere for camping. There are plenty of activities to do, such as swimming, biking, hiking, fishing, canoeing/boating, horseback riding, picnicking, and learning about the history of the area at the visitor center. The camp sites are level gravel with additional raised platforms for screened in pop up canopy and are equipped with a table, fire ring, and lantern station. The beach has a long sandbar, canoe loading ramp and beautiful views of the Chesapeake waterways, and there are plenty of trails to bike, hike, and ride horses on. Unfortunately, the area is prone to mosquitos, so be sure to bring plenty of bug spray and wear long sleeves and pants. The campground also offers kayak and bicycle rentals, and there are three motorboats available for rent with a basic boaters safety license. The camp store is open limited hours and the bathhouse is clean and well-stocked.

Belle Isle State Park offers a variety of camping options, including full-service and primitive camping, as well as cabin and lodge rentals. The park also features picnic shelters, hiking trails, fishing and boating opportunities, and educational programs. The historic Bel Air area is available for weddings and special events.
