Pioneer Village Campground in Max Meadows, VA is nestled amidst greenery and a creek running along its side. It is close to the freeway but down a long, narrow hilly road, now paved, then gravel roads around the park to the gravel site. The camp is a little challenging to get to, but once you do, youll be welcomed by friendly staff and a beautiful campground with trees, grass, and a creek. The sites are all tiered, so even though the pad was somewhat level, the rest of the ground was unlevel. The campground is quiet and peaceful, and there is a bit of freeway noise that may bother some travelers. Several long-term residents may work in the area. The park employee said that four weddings were scheduled for this year, perhaps because of its beautiful location. The Wi-Fi and cable were good, but the water pressure was low. The speed bumps are serious, and the staff is quite strict with the speed limit, but it keeps the park safe. Pioneer Village is a perfect stopover during a long drive, but its also a great place to stay for a few days.
