Smith Mountain Campground is a private, well-maintained campground situated near Smith Mountain Lake Dam. The campground offers large sites with plenty of space next to wooded areas. All sites are on gravel and are fairly level. The campground is quiet and peaceful, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. Theres a pavilion where Bingo is played on Sunday nights. Check-in was easy, and even though the office was closed, we were able to check ourselves in. We made our reservation back in February. While the Wi-Fi was not great, this is typical for most campgrounds. There is some cell service, and we had better results streaming Netflix through our cell provider than the Wi-Fi. Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend this campground to anyone looking for a quiet and peaceful camping experience.

Smith Mountain Campground is a family owned and operated campground located at the foot of scenic Smith Mountain in Virginia. The campground is less than 5 miles from the nearest public boat launch on the spectacular Smith Mountain Lake. Guests can enjoy tranquil views, hiking on the trail, fishing in the stocked pond, meeting new camping friends, and sitting by the fire with family. The campground offers Wi-Fi, camping sites, playground, and even a catch and release pond.
