This campground is a great place to relax and get away from it all. Located way out in the woods right on a reservoir, it is a peaceful and quiet spot with no cell phone coverage or WiFi. The hosts are friendly and helpful, and there are great fishing, kayaking, and boat rental opportunities. The campground is surrounded by beautiful fall foliage and is a great spot for a group of people to come together and enjoy nature. The sites are spacious and level, with a concrete pad, fire ring, and picnic table. There is a playground in the center of the park, but it can be noisy until late at night. The camp store is outdated and the showers are not the best, but there are no other amenities. There is no cell service, but Verizon sometimes works. There are also Canadian geese that can be noisy and messy. The road to the campground is narrow and winding, with a steep turn before the sites. It is a great spot for a day trip, but not ideal for an overnight stay.

Gatewood Park, Campground & Reservoir is a hidden gem located in Southwest Virginia near Pulaski. They offer 35 campsites with full hookups for RV's, campers, and tents, including 17 waterfront premium sites. They also have a deluxe 2 bedroom rental cabin which sleeps up to 4 adults. The 162 acre mountain lake is perfect for stand up paddleboarding, kayaking, fishing, or boating in one of their Craig Cats or rolling motor powered fishing boats. They have trails for hiking and mountain biking, and a day use area for relaxing. The Boathouse at Gatewood provides rentals for all your adventure needs, as well as souvenirs, snacks, camp supplies, firewood, bait, and fishing supplies. They are also pet-friendly and offer rustic natural wedding venue sites and family gathering/reunion options.
