Explore Park and Dons Cab-Inns Campground is a five-star campground located off the Blue Ridge Parkway in Roanoke, Virginia. It is run by Roanoke County and partners with different vendors to provide a wide range of outdoor activities, such as hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, paddling, tubing, and an aerial adventure course. The campground offers RV sites with electricity hook-ups, tiny cabins that sleep 4-6 people, and yurts with electricity and bathrooms. The cabins come with a full-size bed, air conditioning, heat, electricity, a microwave, a small refrigerator, and a coffee pot. There is a fire pit, water spigot, and picnic table outside the cabin, as well as a front porch. The campground also features a brand new bathhouse with private bathrooms and showers, a small store for purchasing ice, firewood, and necessities, and a brewpub with excellent food and beer selection. The campground is only open on weekends and is located a short drive away from a mall, dollar store, places to eat, and a Krispy Kreme. It is also a great place to explore Roanoke, with its breweries, walkable downtown, and great hiking and mountain biking.

Blue Ridge Campground at Explore Park offers primitive camping, raised platforms, and group camp sites. The sites are hike-in/hike-out, and vehicles are not permitted at the campsites. The campground requires a quarter-mile walk in and out unless you catch a shuttle during operating hours. The small primitive sites can accommodate one tent only, up to four guests, and cost $25 per night. The medium primitive sites can accommodate two tents, up to six guests, and cost $50 per night. The raised platform sites can accommodate one tent, up to six guests, and cost $65 per night. The group sites can accommodate up to 25 guests and cost $150 per night for 10 tents or $75 per night for five tents. Customer must provide tents. Two pets maximum are allowed and must stay on a leash. Site amenities include a fire pit, picnic table, and hammock hooks built in for two hammocks on raised platforms. Firewood can be purchased when booking or on-site via the shuttle attendant from 3 PM to 6 PM. The campground is only available Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from April 1 to October 28, and on specific holiday dates. Reservations can be made online or by phone.
