Fairystone State Park in VA offers a beautiful and forested RV campground with pull-through sites that can accommodate both 30 and 50 amps. The asphalt road leading to the campground is pretty steep, requiring the use of first gear when descending. The campground offers excellent restroom facilities and an easily accessible dump station. Although some sites are a little rough, it is easy to level your rig. The camp sites are well spaced with ample privacy, and each site comes with a picnic table and fire pit. The park offers many hiking trails with challenging elevation gains, such as the Turkey Ridge Trail/Lake Shore trail and Stuarts Knob trail. The latter offers some fantastic views and includes the Iron Mine trail, which hikers will find interesting. Visitors enjoy the beautiful lake that is perfect for swimming and boating activities. The park staff are helpful rangers. Depending on cell phone service providers, phone signal may be weak, but decent enough to use streaming services from a cellular hotspot.
