This campground is located in a beautiful area surrounded by gorgeous mountains, perfect for hiking, fishing, and boating. The staff is amazing and the facilities are very clean and family-friendly. Tent sites are spaced a decent distance apart and the RV parking is a gravel lot with large RVs packed in tight. The lake is really pretty and there is a long trail around it. The bathhouse in the primitive loop is a little bit rough and not well maintained. The campground is quiet and offers pull through sites, wifi, and fire rings. Verizon cell coverage is excellent and there are six or seven OTA channels. There are eight FHU RV sites on a bluff overlooking Lake Jack Whitten and they are graveled and need to be leveled. It is also pet friendly. The park is great for families and groups, and is perfect for those looking to explore the local area.

Foxtail Orchards Cabins and Campground, LLC is one of the newest campgrounds in Tazewell County, located on the Back of the Dragon on Route 16. It offers modern facilities, quiet peaceful surroundings, and a panoramic view of the beautiful mountains of Thompson Valley. The campground has 10 tent sites with a picnic table and grill on site, and 3 Campin’ Cabins available for rent. Each cabin has all the amenities of home such as toiletries, linens, towels, dishes, and paper products.
