GenieSummary
This campground is a great spot for a weekend getaway, located off of Highway 106 and offering easy access to the southern tip of Hood Canal. The sites are spacious and well maintained, although they are quite close together with little to no buffer between them. The campground is heavily wooded and provides lots of shade, but the sites don’t have hookups and there is no pump out. The beach across the road is rocky and has a lot of shells, but is still nice to walk on. There is a convenience store located a few miles away for snacks and other necessities. The campground is also close to a number of shops and restaurants to explore. There is a bathing beach on Hood Canal, but it can get crowded and dirty. There is also a small creek and easy boat access to the canal, making it a great spot for boaters. The campground also has a day site with access to the beach, and token operated showers. The area is beautiful and the campground is clean, but it can get busy in the summer months so it’s best to reserve in advance.
From The Campground
Twanoh State Park is one of the oldest state parks in Washington, offering 25 standard campsites, 22 full-hookup sites, two restrooms, and one shower. The park has one campsite that is part of the Cascadia Marine Trail, available to those arriving by wind- or human-powered watercraft on a first-come, first-served basis. The site has a picnic table and a fire ring.
