West Beach Resort is a great place to stay while exploring the San Juan Islands. Located on Orcas Island, the resort offers a variety of accommodations including tent sites, water/electric sites, tent cabins, and regular cabins. The campsites are half up against the trees and the other half dispersed in a yard area. With a price of almost $80 per night for a campsite (water and electric), it is pricier than many other campgrounds. The resort offers whale watching tours from the dock daily, and there are numerous activities to enjoy such as craft projects for the kids, sand volleyball, tetherball, and rope swings. Nearby is Friday Harbor on San Juan Island, and Moran State Park on Orcas Island, which offers plenty of hiking trails and a drive up to the top of Constitution Mountain. Unfortunately, there is no dump site at West Beach Resort, and the only dump site on the island is at Moran State Park, about a 30 minute drive away. There is, however, a free dump site in Anacortes at 4th and T street.
