What others are saying about this campground
Brooks Memorial State Park is a quiet and peaceful campground located in the Ponderosa Pine forest just off of Highway 97 in Goldendale, Washington. The campground offers a mix of RV, trailer, tent, and hookup sites, as well as a group camp. The campground is set in a cool, moist oasis in the dry, hot Central Washington climate. The park has several hiking trails across the highway near the ELC, some of which may be quite steep, and is also close to the Goldendale State Observatory and Maryhill. The campground is far enough off the highway that road noise isnt a problem, but some sites are close to power lines which can cause a buzzing sound. The camp host is friendly and helpful and can provide suggestions for activities in the area. The downside to camping here is that some sites are close to the highway and can be noisy at times. There is also a large population of mice in the campground, and yellow jackets can be a nuisance. Despite these drawbacks, Brooks Memorial State Park is a great place to relax, explore, and take in the beauty of nature.
