GenieSummary

Penrose Point State Park is a beautiful park located across Carr Inlet from Gig Harbor and Fox Island. The park features lovely large campsites that offer a peaceful and pristine camping experience without hookups. The forest setting is breathtaking and there are great hammock trees at nearly every campsite. The hiking trails offer stunning views onto the sound and there are beaches to explore. The bathrooms are just okay, with only one shower per bathroom and tokens instead of quarters. The rangers were concerned about campfires being propane but did not enforce quiet hours. Overall, Penrose Point State Park is a great place to camp and explore nature.

From The Campground

Penrose Point State Park is a wooded campground located near the beach. The campsites are shady or partly shady and can accommodate vehicles or combinations up to 35 feet. Reservations are available from May 15 through Sept. 15 and can be made up to 9 months in advance. Camping is available on a first-come, first-serve basis from September 14 through May 14. Restrooms with flush toilets are located nearby in the day-use area. Restrooms with showers are located on the campground. Firewood is available for purchase at the park throughout the summer.
